VDMA Online Event: The Global Production Language - OPC UA Companion Specifications on November 10th 2020

On Novem­ber 10th 2020, a world first, immers­ive online event spe­cial­ized on OPC UA Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions will take place — con­veni­ently from your home office. You will learn more about the approaches and scope of pub­lished or cur­rently being developed OPC UA Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions for the mech­an­ic­al and plant engin­eer­ing industry.

Exper­i­ence the new immers­ive online con­fer­ence technology

This event will use edge cut­ting online con­fer­ence tech­no­logy. You will have the pos­sib­il­ity to decide wheth­er you use your own avatar to “vis­it” the “con­fer­ence” and nav­ig­ate through the con­fer­ence build­ing and exper­i­ence the new immers­ive tech­no­logy of con­fer­ences or use the live stream, where you can also choose between the dif­fer­ent speeches and listen the con­ven­tion­al way.

OPC UA

OPC UA stand­ards will sig­ni­fic­antly influ­ence and change the com­mu­nic­a­tion in mech­an­ic­al and plant engin­eer­ing as well as in the man­u­fac­tur­ing and pro­cess industry. In addi­tion, cus­tom­ers like the auto­mot­ive industry of the mech­an­ic­al and plant engin­eer­ing industry will in future demand that products sup­port OPC UA Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions and thus have stand­ard­ized inter­faces. In the VDMA, over 600 com­pan­ies are cur­rently devel­op­ing inter­face stand­ards, the so-called OPC UA Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions, in over 35 work­ing groups.

Then the online sem­in­ar “OPC UA Fun­da­ment­als in Mech­an­ic­al Engin­eer­ing” offered by the Maschinen­bau-Insti­tut (a com­pany of the VDMA) might be of use for you. In the sem­in­ar you will learn the basics of OPC UA by means of the­ory and prac­tic­al use cases from mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing. Please note that the sem­in­ar is in German.
