umati has new partner N+P Informationssysteme GmbH

N+P Informationssysteme GmbH is now part of the umati community

What expectations do you have of umati and what do you expect from the partnership?

As a digitalisation partner in mechanical engineering, we see umati as a strong industry initiative that promotes interoperability with open standards. We expect the partnership to result in an intensive exchange of expertise as well as impetus for the further development of our integration platform — particularly with regard to standardised interfaces, data models and best practices on the shop floor.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

umati makes it easier for our customers to network their machinery across manufacturers. The standardised interface reduces integration costs and thus simplifies and accelerates implementation. Customers benefit immediately from the increased transparency in manufacturing processes and, as a rule, from improved productivity. For us as a solution provider, this results in efficiency gains in implementation as well as an innovative network that paves the way for open digital ecosystems.

How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?

The expansion to the entire mechanical engineering sector is a logical and important step in driving forward standardisation across all industries. It promotes a sustainable, interoperable data infrastructure that benefits not only large OEMs, but above all medium-sized companies. For us as a provider of end-to-end digitalisation platforms, this creates new prospects for end-to-end, cross-domain solutions.
