What expect­a­tions do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

From the part­ner­ship with umati, we are expect­ing to get the oppor­tun­ity to high­light our com­mit­ment to the adop­tion of OPC UA in all our products in the form of a joint mar­ket­ing pres­ence. We are con­vinced that the data aggreg­a­tion real­ized in the hub/app by umati with its net­work­ing part­ners will show the bene­fits of a cross-industry stand­ard and will drive its development.

What advant­ages does umati offer your com­pany and your customers?

Our cus­tom­ers can bene­fit from the har­mon­iz­a­tion of recur­ring use cases involving inter­do­main com­mu­nic­a­tion across all indus­tries. The stand­ard­ized inter­faces will reduce costs by speed­ing up sys­tem devel­op­ment. The cus­tom­ers will profit from an added value through built-in read­i­ness for stand­ard­ized (cloud) applications.

How do you eval­u­ate the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing industry?

By devel­op­ing intra-industry stand­ards, a lot of resources are wasted, and great poten­tial remains untapped. In con­trast, umati aims to find gen­er­al solu­tions to gen­er­al prob­lems. In order to advance our soci­ety, we must strive for effi­ciency which can be achieved by stand­ard­iz­a­tion and reuse.
