umati has new partner Winweb Informationstechnologie GmbH

Winweb Informationstechnologie GmbH is now part of the umati community

What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

We expect the partnership with umati to foster innovation and collaboration between software providers and machine manufacturers. By working within a unified framework, both sides can align their developments towards creating more user-friendly, efficient, and connected industrial environments. In the long run, we anticipate that umati will help standardize communication protocols, reduce the complexity of machine integration, and set new benchmarks for the industrial sector’s digital landscape. Our partnership with umati will also allow us to remain at the forefront of technological advancements, ensuring that our ERP software can fully support and integrate with future innovations in mechanical and industrial engineering.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

The standardizazion that umati promotes simplifies the integration process between different  machines and our ERP software This means that our clients, who operate complex production systems, no longer need to deal with the challenges of integrating machines from various manufacturers, each with its own proprietary interface. umati’s universal interface reduces this complexity by providing a common communication standard. For our company, this partnership allows us to focus on developing additional value-added features for our ERP solutions rather than spending excessive resources on solving integration issues. For our clients, umati’s standardized interface reduces the costs associated with the setup and operation of integrated systems. It ensures compatibility between existing machinery and new technologies, fostering greater operational flexibility.

How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?

This expansion means that companies across various fields can benefit from the same universal communication standards, fostering innovation and collaboration on an unprecedented scale. This has the potential to lead to the development of entirely new production methods and technologies that draw from the combined expertise of different sectors.
