WEBER Schraubautomaten GmbH is now part of the umati community
What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
umati is a platform on which companies can find each other who want to pull together. This is the manufacturer and platform-independent data continuity. This is where the companies that have learned that isolated solutions do not contribute to sustainable success in the long term show themselves. umati increases the level of awareness of these innovative companies and establishes contacts so that they can come together.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
As a manufacturer of devices and systems for connection technology, the transfer of process data for documentation and analysis has always been an essential part of our scope of services. Our aim is always to provide information that is as open as possible and accessible to all user groups. By contributing to the Companion Specifications based on OPC-UA, standards in data exchange are created for both sides, making life easier for everyone. The CS OPC 40451–1 (OPC-UA for Tightening Systems — Part 1) provides the information model for this purpose, which provides investment security for manufacturers and users. Connections can be created in less time, transparency and efficiency improve.
How do you assess the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering sector?
This is a necessary and conclusive step. Only those who break down barriers in communication and define standards will be able to communicate without borders.
