SMARTR.solutions GmbH is now part of the umati community
What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
As a solution provider, we want to promote uniform, standardised communication between machines and software. We repeatedly experience uncertainty among our customers and interested parties and notice that OPC UA is on everyone’s lips, but unfortunately has not yet arrived sufficiently strongly in the industry. This leads to either very rudimentary implementations or individual solutions. We believe in the networking of man and machine and, together with umati and the other members, we would like to simplify and spread the access to this idea that has long since come true. The union of different partners and interest groups can achieve more than each individual.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
Standards offer security through clarity. The efforts of umati thus promote the understanding of our customers and mean less clarification work for us.
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
I think it is still a long way to go before the entire mechanical engineering industry has noticed the umati initiative and considers it as the first point of contact for the implementation of machine interfaces. But we will do our part to promote this!
