• What expect­a­tions do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

RCMT expects umati part­ner­ships to be able to join a com­munity that forms a uni­fied inter­face for com­mu­nic­a­tion between pro­duc­tion machines and oth­er equip­ment. This top­ic is very import­ant in recent years, thanks to the use of the pro­posed uni­ver­sal com­mu­nic­a­tion inter­face, it will be pos­sible to eas­ily con­nect inform­a­tion from machines of dif­fer­ent man­u­fac­tur­ers, not only with each oth­er, but espe­cially with third-party soft­ware and the entire IT world. This can sig­ni­fic­antly increase effi­ciency in the use of pro­duc­tion machines.

• What advant­ages does umati offer your com­pany and your customers?

We see the main advant­age in the uni­fic­a­tion of the inter­face and the pos­sib­il­ity to agree on its form with­in the entire field of pro­duc­tion machines. Umati is a lead­ing uni­fy­ing com­munity of com­mu­nic­a­tion inter­faces in the field of pro­duc­tion machines and thanks to this, it will be pos­sible to expand the machines of our indus­tri­al part­ners with oth­er sys­tems, espe­cially from the world of IT, and this very easily.

• How do you eval­u­ate the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing industry?

As men­tioned above, Umati is a lead­ing uni­fy­ing com­munity, which has been achieved through an act­ive approach to the issue of uni­fic­a­tion of machine com­mu­nic­a­tion. Per­son­ally, I eval­u­ate the expan­sion in the field of mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing very pos­it­ively because machines are only part of the entire pro­duc­tion chain and it is neces­sary to con­nect them not only phys­ic­ally but also in terms of data. Only a close con­nec­tion can lead to a sig­ni­fic­ant increase in efficiency.
