What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
the umati initiative solves one of the most important production problems of today. It ensures standardised communication and transparency. The umati partnership supports product design and is, as it were, an important network on the subject of digitalisation. With the support of umati, profeeba GmbH would like to place OPC UA products on the market in a more targeted manner and further advance standardised communication in the digitalisation of mechanical engineering products.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
umati generates trust. Being an umati partner and offering OPC UA products such as the profeeDASH app and profeeBASE creates a common technological added value for our customers. The standards ensure faster integration and cheaper products, as the development of different interfaces will no longer be necessary in the future. Important machine information (OEE) is thus available quickly and cost-effectively. The profeeDASH app processes the data immediately and independently of the manufacturer and machine type. Managing directors, production managers, sales staff and service technicians thus receive the data they currently need.umati is expected to give a similar boost to the mechanical engineering, robotics, PDA and ERP markets as it did in 1996 with the introduction of USB. The very large number of well-known umati partners already points to this.
How do you assess the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering sector?
The standardisation of machine communication makes data available faster and more precisely. Early, simple error analysis leads to optimisation and savings potential and improves production processes qualitatively and quantitatively. Worldwide networking of machine parks has many advantages. The uniform specification of the most important master data (manufacturer, machine type, location, serial number, etc.) is the most important advantage in our view. The expansion massively saves our environment and our resources.
