What expect­a­tions do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

From the part­ner­ship with umati we expect that in the medi­um term a com­mon view of the advant­ages of a cross-industry stand­ard will pre­vail among all mar­ket par­ti­cipants. We are already con­vinced that an uni­ver­sal inter­face based on OPC-UA will bring huge bene­fits to our customers.

What advant­ages does umati offer your com­pany and your customers?

umati com­mu­nic­ates via a stand­ard­ised inter­face and provides import­ant inform­a­tion about machine types and peri­pher­als. This enables our cus­tom­ers to effi­ciently integ­rate our machines into their own systems.

How do you eval­u­ate the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing industry?

We are curi­ous to see how UMATI will find its pos­i­tion­ing in rela­tion to exist­ing cus­tom­er and man­u­fac­turer solu­tions. Stand­ard­iz­a­tion will make the top­ic of increas­ing effi­ciency even more import­ant in future implementations.
