What are your expect­a­tions for umati, what do you expect from the part­ner­ship?

As a mem­ber of the net­work, we are pleased to be able to help drive for­ward stand­ard­isa­tion. We hope to be able to real­ise pro­jects for our cus­tom­ers in mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing and auto­ma­tion at lower costs and with short­er imple­ment­a­tion times. The exchange of experts with­in umati enables us to help shape and con­trib­ute to standardisation.

What advant­ages does umati offer your com­pany and your customers?

We assume that in future, inform­a­tion can be exchanged very eas­ily through umati and that this will open up com­pletely new pos­sib­il­it­ies for machines and sys­tems in pro­duc­tion. Com­mu­nic­a­tion will be cata­pul­ted to a new level and open up new pos­sib­il­it­ies for mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing and solu­tions for cus­tom­er requirements.

How do you rate the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire machinery industry?

The future can only be real­ised through uni­form stand­ards. The umati ini­ti­at­ive must con­tin­ue to be expan­ded through­out the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing sec­tor in order to har­mon­ise and stand­ard­ise the increas­ingly com­plex machines and technologies.
