What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
The umati community intensifies the exchange between participating companies in mechanical engineering and raises the OPC UA standard to a higher level. Production measurement technology is an important part of mechanical engineering. We expect a more sustainable realization of standardized communication via OPC UA through umati. This will make the added value of new digital services in mechanical engineering available to our customers more quickly and easily.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
Open standards are the prerequisite for digital networking of production. This will result in products and services that make production processes simpler, clearer and more efficient.
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
Many visions of the digital transformation, such as the “smart factory,” will only be realized if machines from different manufacturers in all areas of mechanical engineering can interact with each other. Standardized interfaces are a crucial prerequisite for this interoperability.
