Kellenberger Switzerland AG is now part of the umati community
What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
We expect an open network for cross-machine and cross-control communication standards of all industries and manufacturers. When developing solutions with the umati standard, we look forward to having connections implemented in a time-optimized manner.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
For our machine systems we can offer a common interface that takes into consideration the characteristics of the corresponding brands. The partnership with umati increases the visibility of Kellenberger Switzerland AG beyond the pure machine business. Of course, this helps to build new relationships in neighboring business areas and to meet new customers.
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
From a purely technical point of view, Industrie 4.0 is based on communication. From an application perspective, Industrie 4.0 should be oriented toward customer needs in order to solve operational problems before they occur in production facilities. A common communication standard for the entire mechanical engineering sector creates the basis for all stakeholders to focus on the intellectual goal of Industrie 4.0.
