umati has new partner KEBA Industrial Automation

KEBA Industrial Automation is now part of the umati community

What are your expectations of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

Especially with the focus on I4.0 or smart production, the exchange of data between machines and plants via standardized cross-manufacturer interfaces is absolutely necessary. Through the umati partnership we become part of a network of experts and can thus follow and help shape the development of further standards.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

We value both: the exchange of experience with experts as well as an expanded network in which we can present our know-how and technologies.

Our customers benefit from the simple standardized integration of KEBA components into existing systems — plug & play!

How do you assess the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering sector?

Communication between machines but also with higher-level networks is becoming increasingly important for the realization of highly flexible production systems. In addition, there are AI-supported applications in the area of predictive maintenance or orchestration, i.e. the distribution of tasks to machines with the skills required for production. These applications can hardly be realized without standardized, cross-manufacturer data exchange. Standardization is therefore the basis for I4.0.
