isel Germany AG is now member of the umati community
• What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
We expect the unification of the interface standard to continue to significantly reduce the development effort both in the integration of our products into a higher-level process control system and in the integration of OEM components into our special machines. A manufacturer-neutral communication standard for CNC machines is the ideal basis for us as a supplier of special machines and customised solutions.
• What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
umati creates clarity with regard to OPC UA standardisation for CNC machines. After a one-time development effort, applications can be created in a modular system. This also includes the simple and quick use of new tools such as tools for machine data analysis.
• How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
Our experience as a supplier of special machines shows a growing interest in powerful system solutions that can be quickly and easily connected to a process control system. A uniform language in M2M communication means less manufacturing effort, more machine efficiency and thus an increase in international competitiveness.
