SENAI is now part of the umati community
What are your expectations regarding umati, what do you expect from the partnership?
The implementation of technologies for interoperability in the industry in Brazil is at an early stage and SENAI of Minas Gerais believes that the partnership with Umati can help to leverage the use of this standardization, in order to allow communication between systems independent of their manufacturers. SENAI MG hopes to bring the international vision of OPC-UA to our students and the industry we serve, hoping to be the entity that inducts the concept of iteroperability of machines and equipment in the country.
What advantages does Umati offer your company and your customers?
umati is a platform that offers access to quality and excellent technical information and documentation and enables the exchange of information between different partners, which will be important for our experts and teachers to always be up to date. All of this will be very important for SENAI, as it will be able to provide our industrial and educational community with information about the dissemination of OPC-UA iteroperability in Brazilian industries.
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering sector?
The umati initiative can significantly contribute to popularizing the adoption of machine integration and communication standards in the mechanical engineering industry. SENAI MG’s support for this initiative will be able to disseminate knowledge and best practices to companies in the sector, enabling the adoption of these standards more widely and effectively. With standardized and integrated communication, the industry can improve its efficiency, reduce costs and increase product quality, becoming more competitive in the global market. For these reasons, we evaluate very positively the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical industry with support from SENAI MG.
