umati has new partner EUROMAP

EUROMAP is now part­ner of the umati community

EUROMAP is the European umbrella organ­isa­tion of plastics and rub­ber machinery man­u­fac­tur­ers and rep­res­ents around 500 com­pan­ies. The experts have been devel­op­ing OPC UA Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions for this sec­tor since 2014 and were thus one of the pion­eers in the field of mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing. For inter­na­tion­al­isa­tion, a Joint Work­ing Group with the OPC Found­a­tion has been in place since 2019. In the mean­time, spe­cific­a­tions for vari­ous machine types have been pub­lished and more are in devel­op­ment. By integ­rat­ing OPC for Machinery into new (and suc­cess­ively into exist­ing) spe­cific­a­tions, they become part of the world machine language.

What expect­a­tions do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

The bene­fits of OPC UA and Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions must be com­mu­nic­ated to cus­tom­ers in a simple way. umati offers a good oppor­tun­ity to show, espe­cially through the dash­board, that stand­ard­isa­tion makes cross-man­u­fac­turer and cross-machine net­work­ing much easier.
