What expect­a­tions do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

We hope for a broad accept­ance of OPC-UA and the umati Com­pan­ion Spe­cific­a­tions in the mar­ket. In par­tic­u­lar, we prom­ise that data can be made avail­able for optim­isa­tion for pro­ductiv­ity and sustainability.

What advant­ages does umati offer your com­pany and your customers?

The stand­ard­isa­tion of inter­faces on machines and plants is a key tech­no­logy to be able to devel­op scal­able applic­a­tions for cus­tom­ers. DX FACTURE GmbH hopes that umati will be widely imple­men­ted in machine and plant con­struc­tion. This will make the integ­ra­tion of soft­ware for pro­duc­tion more access­ible. In addi­tion, DX FACTURE GmbH can devel­op solu­tions for resi­li­ent and sus­tain­able pro­duc­tion more reli­ably and quickly, which in turn has a pos­it­ive effect in terms of time and costs.

How do you assess the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing sector?

We are very much look­ing for­ward to the expan­sion of the umati ini­ti­at­ive to the entire mech­an­ic­al engin­eer­ing sec­tor. It is the logic­al step to ana­lyse and optim­ise pro­cess chains hol­ist­ic­ally through data. The umati ini­ti­at­ive thus has the poten­tial to make a sig­ni­fic­ant con­tri­bu­tion to more sus­tain­able production.
