umati has new partner Cognibotics AB

Cognibotics is now part of the umati community

What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

Forum for exploring use-cases of OPC-UA and then contributing to improved interoperability.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

Will see. Hopefully we can more easily adapt to widely used standards, to better find and connect to automation systems partners.

How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?

Interesting but need to be done with care concerning machine and application differences, but also similarities. E.g., geometry in robotics differs from that of machine tools, but state-machines in robotics and PLCs deserves harmonization.
