What expectations do you have of umati, what do you expect from the partnership?

We expect a long-awaited unification of many viable approaches into a common communication standard that will be well received in industry due to the broad range of partners and to network with companies that approach implementation in different ways. We expect the partnership to give us additional insight into the expectations and needs of engineering companies.

What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?

As a current topic in manufacturing technology umati allows us to follow the latest developments and implement findings accordingly. We can offer our project partners from various branches of the manufacturing industry a profound insight into the latest developments. In addition we and our partners benefit from an extension of our Industry 4.0 network on an international level.

How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?

If umati is already recognized in manufacturing technology, it is a good approach to extend it to a wider range of devices and machines and to deal with the corresponding open issues as well. However, we are still curious about the role umati will play in comparison to other already recognized and existing standards.
