auto­mat­ica 2025: Con­nectiv­ity, Innov­a­tion, and Strong Part­ner­ships in the Spotlight

From June 24 to 27, 2025, auto­mat­ica took place in Munich – Europe’s lead­ing trade fair for smart auto­ma­tion and robot­ics. With over 47,000 vis­it­ors from more than 90 coun­tries and around 800 exhib­it­ors, the event was a resound­ing suc­cess and a power­ful test­a­ment to the industry’s innov­at­ive strength.

One of the cent­ral themes of the fair was the con­nectiv­ity of machines and sys­tems – and this is pre­cisely where umati (uni­ver­sal machine tech­no­logy inter­face) made a strong state­ment togeth­er with its part­ners. At the joint booth B5.224, umati show­cased how open inter­faces are shap­ing the future of con­nec­ted manufacturing.

A par­tic­u­lar high­light was the close col­lab­or­a­tion with numer­ous part­ners from the machinery and plant engin­eer­ing sec­tors, who demon­strated their solu­tions live on-site. Among them was Zain Aabideen from the MII team, who presen­ted a com­pel­ling demon­strat­or illus­trat­ing the prac­tic­al imple­ment­a­tion of inter­op­er­able data exchange.
