Seitec GmbH is now part of the umati community
What are your expectations of umati, and what do you expect from the partnership?
We expect umati to establish itself as the universal interface in the machine tool sector and become the communication standard. If we continue the development partnership we have started so successfully, we will bring great benefits to a large number of users with our innovative OPC Hub within the umati partner network. The focus here is on integrating and maintaining existing software solutions via direct OPC connection.
What advantages does umati offer your company and your customers?
The advantages are manifold. We can offer our customers an innovative software solution, while at the same time umati users will be able to take a step towards greater efficiency through standardization and greater transparency, right through to new business models based on the use of machine data, for example in service.
How do you assess the extension of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering sector?
In our view, umati is gaining increasing attention and popularity. The community is growing steadily, and we look forward to accompanying this development in partnership.
