As an industry association, JMTBA supports the technological advancement and global competitiveness of its member companies. Some of our member companies have joined umati as corporate partners. We believe that standardization initiatives like umati are beneficial for enhancing collaboration in the global market.
How do you evaluate the expansion of the umati initiative to the entire mechanical engineering industry?
We recognize that the expansion of umati across the mechanical engineering industry is an important step toward accelerating the digitalization of manufacturing.
About JMBTA
The Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA) is a nonprofit trade association of metal cutting machine tool builders. It was established in 1951 with an eye to ensuring the overall growth of the nation’s machine tool industry and contributing to the sound development of the Japanese economy.
To achieve its goals, the association carries out a variety of initiatives through standing and ad hoc committees. These include surveys on production, distribution, exports, and technology related to machine tools; co-sponsorship of the Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF); and the development of ISO and JIS standards, etc.
