OPC UA 40092­1 for Foam Cutting Machines

OPC 40092-1 is the first part of a specification series for the flexible polyurethane (PUR) foam industry.

Part 1 cov­ers foam cut­ting machines, which are used to shape foam blocks into final products for applic­a­tions such as fur­niture, bed­ding, auto­mot­ive interi­ors, and packaging.

The spe­cific­a­tion enables stand­ard­ized com­mu­nic­a­tion between foam cut­ting machines and high­er-level sys­tems. It covers:
Iden­ti­fic­a­tion of the machine and its components
Con­fig­ur­a­tion of cut­ting para­met­ers and job settings
Status mon­it­or­ing for oper­a­tion­al insights
Mon­it­or­ing of pro­cess val­ues such as cut­ting speed, blade pos­i­tion, and mater­i­al feed

OPC 40092 is designed to cov­er the entire pro­cess chain of flex­ible PUR foam pro­duc­tion. Future parts will address upstream and down­stream equip­ment such as tank farms, pre-foamers, and bond­ing sta­tions. This mod­u­lar approach ensures scalab­il­ity and inter­op­er­ab­il­ity across the full pro­duc­tion line.
